A loud explosion was heard in the city of Qamishli in western Kurdistan on Thursday.

 

According to preliminary information, the explosion happened in the central district of the city.

 

A well-informed source in Qamishlo said that a car bomb attack targeted the church of the Virgin Mary in the central district of the city of Qamishli.

 

The car exploded in front of the church, injuring seven people and causing material damage to the area of the terrorist incident, the source said.

 

He said, after arriving at the scene, the security forces imposed a security cordon, and ambulances rushed the wounded to the city's Al-Rahma hospital.
