Heritage museum in the Center of Sulaymaniyah

The Kurdish Heritage Museum is located in the center of the city of Sulaymaniyah, in the middle of the big market. It consists of 9 small rooms that contain old artifacts and objects of clothing, coins, stamps, household appliances and old handicrafts.


Irfan, the Museum Director of Kurdish Heritage told PUKmedia:"The peoples know their history, their ancient folklore and the Kurdish people. One of these living peoples keeps its history and the museum includes clothes, fashion, accessories, ancient handicrafts, ancient books, stamps and coins." 


Nasradin Mohammed, is one of the visitor who said: "The Kurdish Museum is one of the most important museums that show the folklore of the Kurds and the history of our ancestors, and how their simple lives and the materials and instruments used at the time were important for the future generations to tell the history of their people," 


It is noteworthy that the Kurdish Heritage Museum was opened in 2005 officially by the government of the Kurdistan Region in cooperation and supervision of the Kurdish Heritage Organization.
