Patriotic Union supports the partnership between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government

On Tuesday, March 19, 2019, Mr. Kosrat Rasul Ali, Deputy Secretary-General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in the presence of the President of the Republic received the Second Deputy Secretary-General Dr. Barham Ahmed Salih in Sulaymaniyah, Mohammed Al Halbusi, Speaker of the Council of Representatives and his accompanying delegation.

 

 

During the meeting, which was attended by a number of the Political Bureau and the Leadership Council of the Patriotic Union, the two sides discussed the current situation in Iraq and the role of political parties and forces in promoting stability and coordination between constitutional and political institutions in Iraq.

 

The delegation of the Patriotic Union and Speaker of the Council of Representatives emphasized the need to play the role of the Council of Representatives in the legislation of good and contemporary laws and monitor the performance of the government.

 

On the other side of the meeting, the attendees discussed the relations between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government. In this regard, the vision of the Patriotic Union was presented to the guest delegation, as the Patriotic Union supports the real partnership between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government and wishes to have strong relations between the two sides.

 

At the end of the meeting, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives and the delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan stressed the need to coordinate and strengthen relations between the political parties in order to build a common understanding of the national files.
