Britain returns an important artifact to Iraq

The United Kingdom government on Tuesday returned one of the ancient and important artifacts of the Babylonian civilization to the federal government.


The British embassy in Iraq said in a statement obtained by PUKmedia: "The UK government has returned one of the ancient and important artifacts of Babylonian civilization. The piece was illegally looted but the UK authorities have returned it to Iraq."


Adding that, "It will be shown later at the Iraqi Museum in Baghdad after it was handed over to the Iraqi ambassador to the United Kingdom at a ceremony held at the British Museum in London."
