Iraq retrieves 12 million euros from Spain

The Iraqi Integrity Commission announced on Sunday that Baghdad has retrieves about 12 million euros from Spain, representing the value of oil shipments equipped by the Ministry of Oil of a Spanish company in 1988.


The statement by the Commission said which PUKmedia obtained a copy of it: "(11.915.440) million euros was retrieved which was the worth of oil shipments equipped from Iraq to Spain under the Iraqi-Spanish agreement."


The statement pointed out that, these funds were frozen under the UN Security Council resolutions.


The Commission of Integrity noted that, "Iraq and Spain signed a memorandum of understanding which said that the retrieving of the funds will be in the form of contracts for the Ministry of Industry and Minerals."
