MOMD repatriates 199 Iraqi refugees from Turkey across Kurdistan Region

The Ministry of Migration and Displaced announced the reception of (199) Iraqi refugees returning from Turkey to Iraq.

In a statement on Friday, the ministry stated: It is part of the free voluntary return program provided by the ministry for those wishing to return voluntarily from Turkey and via the land road and in the Ibrahim al-Khalil port to Zakho district in Duhok governorate in cooperation and coordination with the Ministries of Transport and Foreign Affairs represented by the Iraqi embassy in Turkey, in addition to the joint crisis management in Duhok and the security forces of the port, about 199 Iraqi citizens were transferred in Turkey who were planning to return from the Turkish camp of Akada to their country, Iraq. "

The ministry pointed out that "the staff of the ministry in Erbil and Duhok received them and allocated buses to take them home after checking their names in the database of the security authorities as well as supplying them fast food in cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees."
