The president emphasizes the importance of following up to the decisions of Kuwait conference for the reconstruction of Iraq

President Barham Salih received Mr. Khalid al-Roudhan, Kuwaiti Minister of Trade and Industry and his accompanying delegation, at the Presidential Office in Baghdad on Wednesday, February 20, 2019.

 

His Excellency stressed on the need to strengthen trade cooperation between the two countries and means of developing it to achieve development for the benefit of the two friendly peoples. 

 

The President highlighted the importance of following up to what was adopted at the Kuwait Conference for the Reconstruction of Iraq.

 

President Salih indicated that Iraq has a keen desire for openness towards its Arab, regional and international surroundings in the economic and industrial fields in way that enhances its stature and fulfils the aspirations of its people.

 

President Barham Salih commended Kuwait's contribution to assist the internally displaced persons and reconstruct the affected areas.

 

For his part, Minister al-Roudhan asserted his country's keenness to develop the relations with Iraq and the Kuwaiti companies’ willingness for investment and rehabilitation of the infrastructure in Iraq.

 

During the meeting, they discussed a number of issues of mutual interest and stressed the importance of increasing trade and economic exchange, exchange of expertise, and joint coordination in all fields.
