During the meeting, they discussed the situation in Iraq and the post-formation of the federal government. The two sides affirmed the continuation and development of relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad and the necessity of a joint memorandum of understanding to solve the crucial issues.

The discussion of the steps to form a new government for the Kurdistan region is another aspect of the meeting, where Kosrat Rasul Ali said that the official policy of the PUK is the real partnership between the parties and the consensus on the approval of important issues in the Kurdistan Region.

The deputy secretary-general said that the PUK wants to work on the issue of forming a government and solving problems in Kirkuk and Kurdish areas outside the administration of the Region and Baghdad with a single package and find appropriate solutions.

The issue of Kirkuk and the normalization of the situation in the city was another aspect of the meeting of Kosrat Rasul and the prominent American delegation, where the two sides agreed on the need to normalize the situation in the city and put the security file in the hands of the security forces and protect the perimeter of the city by joint forces.

The two sides discussed the latest developments in the region and the post-elimination phase of terrorism in Iraq. The two sides agreed on the need to militarily eliminate terrorism side by side and try to combat extremist ideology.
