Explosion hit a Turkish military convoy in Zakho

The explosion occurred during the passage of a column of Turkish army in the sub-district of Batif in Zakho district of Kurdistan.

On Saturday, August 7, the director of the Batif region, Mohammad Hasan, confirmed that an improvised explosive device was laid on the main road of the subarea and Begov community.
He further said that the security forces had rushed into the area and an investigation had begun. It is not yet clear who was behind the blast.

According to media reports, several people were injured because of the explosion. Officials did not announce the wounded.

Journalist teams were unable to make their way through the explosion zone.
