Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister, met with British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson Richardson in Erbil to discuss relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, as well as the internal situation in Kurdistan.

Qubad Talabani stated today at the meeting attended by Rosy Cave, British Consul General in Erbil, that the best option for the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad is a comprehensive long-term agreement on the budget, the oil and gas law, and other outstanding issues in accordance with the constitution.

"This agreement must be reached as soon as possible, and delaying it is not in the interests of either party," he said.

"The main demand of Kurdistan citizens is services, so our priority is to provide a budget so that we can implement service projects as needed," the Deputy Prime Minister added.

In another part of the meeting, the internal problems of the region were discussed and both sides stressed that the problems must be resolved through dialogue.

Regarding the case of Hawkar Jaff's martyrdom, Qubad Talabani stated: "The PUK requested the formation of a joint committee to investigate the case from the first day, and we are currently waiting for the formation of that committee in front of the international community so that the facts can be made public."

The reform of the Peshmerga forces was also covered at the meeting. Qubad Talabani declared, "We insist on continuing reforms and will not allow political problems to impede the Peshmerga Ministry's reform process."
