On Wednesday, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) declared a state of emergency due to the continued Turkish threats.
The declaration came following a special session of the AANES General Council to confront any possible attack by Turkey on the region.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has recently announced plans to carry out another major military cross-border incursion into northern Syria. Erdogan specified his targets in the two northern Syrian cities of Manbij and Tel Rifaat.
“A state of emergency was declared in all regions of north and east Syria, and all councils, boards, committees and institutions of the AANES were informed to prepare emergency planning to face the threats that target the region,” the AANES official website announced.
It added that all possibilities will be placed in the service of protecting the region’s inhabitants.
