On Wednesday, a large picture of the late President, Mam Jalal, was unveiled in the Garmian region.
Karim Shkur, head of the Hamrin 16 Organizations Center of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), and several PUK cadres attended the event.
Karim Shkur told PUKmedia, "The late President, Mam Jalal, is still immortal in our minds because we consider him a symbol of freedom, and his passing affected us because it is difficult to forget a person, like him."
"The late President was beloved among the Iraqi people from the Kurdistan region to the south, and the best evidence of that is what the supreme religious authority in Iraq called His Eminence Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, the guarantor of Iraq's security," he continued.
Shukr continued, "On this occasion, we renew our pledge of allegiance to him that we are following his path, and we will continue his journey with unity, whether it is in the Kurdistan Region or our parliamentary work in Baghdad."
