Wave of snow hits the Kurdistan Region

A wave of heavy snowfall hit the Kurdistan Region on Sunday and temperatures fell below zero degrees celsius.
The Director of the Slemani Meteorological Office, Aso Kamal, told PUKmedia that the snowfall will continue intermittently until the end of this week.
According to Kamal, on Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather situation will be somewhat stable, but the temperature will remain low, and snow and rainfall will once again begin on Wednesday night.
According to forecasts of the Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring department in the Kurdistan Region, the weather will be cold and snowfall will continue
The Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring department in Kurdistan Region said on Monday that temperatures will fall to below zero degrees celsius in the Kurdistan Region. The lowest temperature was recorded in the Haji Omaran area which witnessed a -9 degrees Celsius.
It also warned that frost may occur due to low temperatures.
On Monday, the General Directorate of Education in Slemani announced the suspension of schools for 3 days due to the heavy snow.
