Iraq is the first Arab country as the largest buyer of Turkish real estate in 2021

On Sunday, the Turkish Statistics Authority announced that Iraq ranked first among the Arab countries as the largest buyer of real estate in Turkey during 2021.

In a report, the authority said, "Iraq ranked first in the Arab world as the largest buyer of housing units, as its citizens bought 8,661 housing units in Turkey during 2021."

It added that "Kuwait came second with 1,791 houses, then Yemen with 1,332 houses, Palestine came fourth with 1296 houses, then Jordan came fifth with 1257 houses, then Egypt came sixth with 1166 houses, Lebanon came seventh with 1022 houses, and then Sudan came eighth with 699 houses."

The authority indicated that "the Iranians ranked first as the largest purchaser of homes in Turkey during the past year with 10,56 homes, followed by the Iraqis with 8,661 homes, then Russia came third with 5,379 homes, then Afghanistan with 2,762 homes, and Germany came fifth with 2,358 homes."

Meanwhile, the director-general of the Turkish Land Survey, Mehmet Zaki Adli, announced, according to the Anatolia news agency, that 68,600 properties were sold to foreigners in 2021.

The Turkish official revealed that “the citizens of Iraq and Iran I am in first-line among foreigners who buy real estate in Turkey last year “.

In the list, according to Adley, are “citizens of Russia, Great Britain, Germany and Afghanistan” ranked third to sixth.

He also revealed that “the cities of Istanbul, Antalya, Ankara, and Mugla are in the front line between Turkish cities that sell real estate to foreigners “.
