Bafel Jalal Talabani congratulates Nuri al-Maliki

On Saturday, Bafel Jalal Talabani sent a congratulatory message to Nuri al-Maliki on the occasion of his re-election as Secretary-General of Iraq's Islamic Dawa Party.

My dear brother, Mr. Nuri Al-Maliki,
Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Party

On the occasion of the convening of the eighteenth congress of your party and your re-election as Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Party, I congratulate you and wish you continued progress and growth.

We are certain that this step will place great responsibilities on you and your militant party, which has a bright history of struggle against the dictatorship and injustice of the buried regime. It will also add another responsibility for you which is strengthening relations with all the forces and parties fighting in the Iraqi political arena for the benefit of the people and the establishment of peace, harmony, and brotherhood in the country.

On this occasion, we also affirm the friendship and solid relations between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Dawa Party in order to achieve the higher goals of the Iraqi people and to protect and perpetuate friendship and joint action.
