KRG: We will do all we can to support the Peshmerga

On Wednesday, the Kurdistan Regional Council of Ministers held its regular session, headed by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and  Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani.

The Cabinet discussed the terrorist attacks committed by ISIS terrorists in the disputed areas between Kurdistan region and Iraq, which resulted in the martyrdom and the wounding of a number of Peshmerga and Kurdish citizens.

The Prime Minister, on behalf of the Council of Ministers, expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs and wished speedy recovery for the wounded. 

The Prime Minister also indicated that there is constant communication with the Iraqi government to expand cooperation and coordination to fill the security vaccum in the disputed areas, in addition to providing the Peshmerga with the necessities to combat ISIS terrorists. 

The Prime Minister reiterated that "we will do our utmost to support the Peshmerga and protect the steadfast people in those areas facing the threats of ISIS terrorists, as these attacks are part of the continues attempts to change the demography of those areas."
