Iraqi President and Tueller discuss several issues

 The President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with the American ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller.

The close bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington were discussed during the meeting and how best to strengthen their ties across all sectors in ways that best serve the interests of both peoples, where there could be further dialogue on the strategic issues of common interest.

The discussion focused on the need to further strengthen joint actions in addressing the challenges presented by terrorism.

The meeting placed emphasis on the importance of having further cooperation in curbing corruption, drying the financing sources of terrorism, and tackling climate change's serious repercussions.

Recent developments related- matters in the region and the world were discussed during the meeting, and Iraqi President Salih and U.S. Ambassador Tueller spoke also about matters of mutual concern.
Tensions should be calmed in the region, they agreed, while solutions to the lingering issues should be found through dialogue to establish regional peace, security, and stability.
