Qubad Talabani and Muhammad al-Halbousi stressed the need to start discussions on the formation of the new Iraqi government on the basis of building a rational governance policy of a common nature in decision-making and real reform.

This came during Qubad Talabani's meeting on Tuesday with Muhammad al-Halbousi, head of the Iraqi Progress Alliance, and his accompanying delegation in Erbil.

Both sides discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region.

The two sides stressed the need to start dialogues by the political parties to form the new federal government, and their views agreed on the need for discussions to be based on building a rational governance policy with the participation of all components in decision-making and real reform.

In this context, Qubad Talabani indicated that efforts should be made for the Kurds to participate in a unified row in the talks and negotiations with other political parties.

A second axis of the meeting discussed terrorist attacks, especially the recent ISIS attacks on the Peshmerga forces, and the martyrdom and wounding of several Peshmerga and citizens.

Halbousi offered his condolences to the Kurdish people, stressing the need to develop security plans in those areas to ensure filling the security gaps.
