Bafel Talabani: PUK and Gorran are real partners

A delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, headed by Bafel Talabani, the Co-President of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), on Wednesday visited the Gorran Movement in Slemani.

During the meeting, they discussed the results of the Iraqi parliamentary elections, the relations between the PUK and Gorran Movement and preparations for any developments that might occur.

The Co-President of PUK was accompanied by a high ranking PUK officials, and they were welcomed by Omar Said Ali,  the General Coordinator of the Gorran Movement, and members of Gorran Movement. 

During the meeting, Bafel Talabani explained that "the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and Gorran Movement are real partners, and we together want to change the political direction and defend the rights of our people," adding that "together, we want to have a new project and work with a new vision for Kurdistan."

The Co-President of the Patriotic Union also said that "the seats obtained by the Kurdistan Coalition were the product of the joint efforts of Gorran and the PUK, and the candidates are heading to Baghdad to defend the Kurdistan Coalition's program and guarantee the financial and political rights of the Kurdistan Region and the disputed areas," adding that "through unity between Kurdistan Coalition representatives and other Kurdish representatives, we can ensure stability and provide better services for the citizens."

Later in the meeting, Bafel Talabani indicated that the political parties go through great difficulties, but what is more important is that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Gorran Movement take steps within the framework of the Kurdistan Coalition towards a political project and achieve the dream of Kak Nawshirwan and President Mam Jalal in order to change the political system, perform joint projects for reform, provide better services to citizens, make radical changes in the administration and address deficiencies.

At the end, the Co-President emphasized that they will stay with their brothers in the Gorran Movement and work together toward a brighter and prosperous future.
