PUK, Kingdom of Jordan reiterate strengthening relations

On Tuesday afternoon, Saadi Ahmad Pira, member of the politburo of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), welcomed Fuad Al-Majali, consul-general of the Kingdom of Jordan in the Kurdistan Region, at the politburo's building in Erbil.

During the meeting, discussions were held on the political situation in Iraq and Kurdistan, especially the Iraqi parliamentary election which took place last Sunday, where they emphasized the strengthening of the friendly relations between the two sides.

Saadi Ahmad Pira highlighted the long-standing relations between the late President Mam Jalal, the late King Hussein, and the family of the Kingdom of Jordan and said: "We will continue this friendly relationship to protect the interests of the Kurdish people and the people of our neighboring Jordanian kingdom."

For his part, Fuad Al-Majali, the consul-general of the Kingdom of Jordan in the Kurdistan Region, expressed his pleasure for the warm welcome he received in the Kurdistan Region in general and by the PUK in particular.

"We hope to develop our relationship on different levels and fields among them business, economy, health, education, and tourism, for this purpose, we will do all facilitation and cooperation with the citizens of Kurdistan region," he said. 

"On the Iraqi level in general, we want stability, peace, and continuation in the harmony and coexistence that exist between the Iraqi parties," he added.
