On Monday, the Independent High Electoral Commission announced the official preliminary election results in most of the governorates.
According to the statistics provided by IHEC, the Kurdistan Coalition has won 18 seats in the Iraqi Parliament.
The Slemani office of IHEC announced the results on Monday evening, which showed that the Kurdistan Coalition has secured 8 seats in Slemani governorate.
Moreover, the Kurdistan Coalition won 3 seats in Kirkuk and 3 seats in Nineveh.
Candidates competed for 329 seats in the Iraqi Parliament Council; 83 seats are allocated to women while nine seats are allocated for minorities.
The number of candidates across Iraq was more than 3,240, including 951 women, which is less than half the number of women who ran in the 2018 elections.
There were 25 million Iraqi voters, about 21 million were eligible to vote.
Turnout in Iraq's parliamentary election on Monday was 41%, the electoral commission said, in a sign of dwindling trust in political leaders although participation was not nearly as low as election officials had earlier feared.
