The famous Kurdish caricaturist and painter Handren Khoshnaw won the first prize in the Caricature Festival in Croatia.
Khoshnaw told PUKmedia that this festival is the first of its kind in Zagreb, Croatia, and they are planning to hold it annually.
The festival has a jury of seven artists who have great experiences in selecting works, where 163 caricatures from 43 countries were selected to be shown at the exhibition.
Khoshnaw also pointed out that the festival topics included recent global problems and obstacles such as earthquakes, floods, and traffic, foremost of which is the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to the jury's decision, the audience also participated in determining the best works.
"A large number of viewers voted for my works as the number reached 622 votes, 99 of which were from Kurdish friends," Khoshnaw said.
"I hope to continue serving Kurdish art in general and caricature art in particular," he added.
