Bafel Talabani praises efforts of Asayish forces

On Thursday, the Co-President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, accompanied by Chato Salih, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and Azhi Amin, head of the the Intelligence Agency (Zanyari), visited Khasraw Gull, the head of  Head of the  Kurdistan Region's Asayish, and Hiwa Ahmed, the Director of Asayish in Slemani.

During a meeting attended by the director of the Asayish office, Major General Hakim Karim, they discussed the security situation and called for greater coordination between the security institutions to protect security and stability of the region.

During the meeting, Khasraw Gull explained the strategy of the Asayish institution in the Kurdistan Region to protect the security of the region and confront security threats, revealing that dozens of sleeper cells of ISIS terrorists were arrested during the last period away from eyes of the media and were handed to the court.

Khasraw Gull said, "in coordination with the Peshmerga forces, the counter-terror and forces affiliated to the Ministry of Interior, we are continuing our duties to preserve the security and stability of the region and protect the citizens' properties. Therefore, no one is above the law, and no one will be allowed to use the Asayish name for their personal interests.

For his part, Bafel Talabani praised the efforts of the Asayish forces, saying, "you are the protector of security and stability, and we will not forget your efforts and sacrifices," adding that "protecting peoples lives and properties is PUK's priority."
