Bafel Talabani: we must serve, secure a well deserved life for Peshmerga forces

Bafel Talabani revealed that PUK is attempting to create a national force to protect the Kurdistan Region.

On Wednesday, Bafel Talabani, the Co-President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met in Qalachwalan with the commanders of the brigades of the Peshmerga forces.

The meeting was attended by Vice President of Kurdistan Region, Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, the commander of the Seventy Forces, Mustafa Chawrash, the supervisor of the Seventy Forces, Mahmoud Sangawi, the official of the Peshmerga Organizations Center, Abdullah Kani Bardi, and the official of the fourth axis of Kirkuk forces, Hiwa Abdullah.

During the meeting, Bafel Talabani spoke about the importance and role of the Peshmerga leaders, saying, "Peshmergas are the protectors and owners of PUK, and we will not forget their struggles and pride."

"We will continue our attempts to monitor and organize our units and develop military capabilities. Serving the Peshmerga forces and securing a well-deserved life is our duty, and in the future, you will witness changes," he continued.

Bafel Talabani also spoke about the attempts to organize the Kurdistan Peshmerga forces, stressing that PUK is building a national force that will defend Kurdistan and its higher interests. 

"With the support of our allies, we will implement this national operation and make the Peshmerga forces an armed force to be ready for challenges and defend the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region," Talabani stated.

In the end of their meeting, he also emphasized the need to train the Peshmerga forces and protect the implementation of court decisions.
