P.U.K 03:01 PM - 2021-09-20

Qubad Talabani, the President of the Kurdistan Coalition, held a meeting on Monday with the Kurdistan Coalition's candidates in Erbil.

During the meeting, participants discussed the course of the election campaign and emphasized maintaining peace, stability, not violating the laws, and instructions of the Iraq High Electoral Commission (IHEC), as well as the preparations for a ceremony to introduce the candidates of the Kurdistan Coalition in Erbil.

The meeting also stressed that the Kurdistan Coalition's messages should be spread more and better among citizens to make it clear that the coalition is working to achieve the Kurds' rights and can form an agreement in Baghdad to guarantee the rights and entitlements of the people of the Kurdistan Region.

"Together, we will be stronger in Baghdad and we can realize all the messages and promises we made to our people," Qubad Talabani said.

"So I ask you to work more on delivering the Kurdistan Coalition's message for the sake of unity, guaranteeing salaries, better services, and stability," he added.

Talabani pointed out that the strugglers of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Gorran Movement in Erbil should play their part in encouraging citizens to participate in voting for their representatives to defend the rights of the Kurdish people.

"To restore the balance of power in the Kurdistan Region and to regain a living for the people and the unity of our nation, vote for the candidates of the Kurdistan Coalition," Talabani said.

The meeting ended with intensive discussions and proposals to further promote the work of the Kurdistan Coalition and its candidates.

It is noteworthy that the PUK and Gorran formed the  Kurdistan Coalition list last May. The Coalition is headed by Qubad Talabani, who is currently the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government.

Iraq will hold elections on October 10, ahead of schedule. Early elections were one of the demands of the protesters who took to the Iraqi streets in October 2019 to vent their anger and frustration at the government's inability to fight corruption and provide them with security and stability.
