Nearly 500 films to be shown at Duhok International Film Festival

The Duhok International Film Festival is scheduled to start on November 11, 2021, in the presence of a number of local and foreign artists and film directors.

The festival's media official, Hassan Aref, told PUKmedia, "the preparations for the Duhok International Film Festival have been completed, and nearly 500 films have been received and reviewed by the jury to receive the award of the best film.

"The festival used to start on September 9, every year, but this year, due to the Iraqi elections, the festival's activities will start on November 11," Aref added. 

Aref also indicated that the festival hosts Afghan films this year because of the situation in Afghanistan and the dangers threatening the cinema in Afghanistan.
