The International Coalition warplanes targeted ISIS Hideouts and hideouts near the Kifri district.

On Friday Morning, the warplanes targeted ISIS hideouts three times in the TawerKawa mountain in Nujul town of Kifri district.

French special forces warplanes were able to target ISIS hideouts on Friday night, near Qalan village.

Currently, the security forces started a security campaign in the area to search for the remaining terrorists.

Iraq has announced a military victory over ISIS in 2017, after three years of battle with the terrorists. However, remnants of the group continue to pose threats, especially in the areas disputed between the KRG and the Iraqi government.

Last week, The security forces in Kirkuk managed to repel an attack by ISIS terrorist organization, killing several terrorists.

Residents of these areas have continuously called for the return of the Peshmerga forces to their territories who left following 2017 events which led to forming security gaps that terrorists exploit.

Islamic State's terrorists' ambush, abduct and extort both civilians and members of the security forces in the disputed areas which stretch across several provinces, including Kirkuk, Nineveh, Diyala, and Saladin.

Despite the announcement of forming joint coordination centers between the Peshmerga and Iraqi forces in the disputed areas last May, but the operation is still not yet implemented on the ground which has raised concerns of the people of these areas whose lives are under continuous threat.

It is noteworthy that Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution stipulates that the disputed territories were Arabized during the fallen Iraqi Baath Regime rule.
