KRG announces date of new school year

On Monday, Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Chaired a meeting of the Education and Higher Education Board to discuss the starting of the 2021-2022 school year process besides other topics related to the education situation.

The meeting was attended by the Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Education, the Chief of the Cabinet Office, and the Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Department.

In The meeting, they discussed the preparations and requirements for adhering to health instructions in the classrooms.

Talabani confirmed that the government will provide all the requirements for the start of a new educational year on 14th September 2021.

For his part, the Minister of Education said that all educational and teaching staff are ready for the new school year, pointing out that the results of the final exams for the 12th preparatory stage will be announced on Monday, 23th of August.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research said that the educational process of universities and institutes of the Kurdistan Region will start between 1st-25th of September, noting that preparations are continuing by adhering to health instructions against Coronavirus.
