Iraqi National Boxing Team coach dies of Covid-19

Majid Naim, the Iraqi National Boxing Team coach, died of Covid-19 on Wednesday, according to a statement from the Iraqi National Olympic Committee.

 

"the Iraqi National Olympic Committee and the Boxing Federation community were saddened by the news of the death of the National Boxing Team coach, Majid Naim, who passed away on Wednesday at the age of 53 due to Covid-19," Iraqi National Olympic Committee said in a statement.

 

"the late coach was a lofty example of sportsmanship, a loyal coach and a virtuous academic and educationalist," the statement added.

 

The Iraqi sports community lost many of its superstars during the pandemic, including Ahmed Radi, Nazem Shaker, Ali Hadi, and Karim Salman.
