Barham Salih calls for the return of displaced Yazidis
Wednesday, April 7, 2021, The Iraqi President, Dr. Barham Salih received the delegation of the Yazidi Council in Sinjar at the Peace Palace in Baghdad.
During the meeting, they discussed the overall security, service and humanitarian situation in Sinjar and the obstacles facing its people, where it was stressed the need to take measures to achieve security and stability in the city.
The Iraqi President stressed the importance of securing safe and dignified voluntary return requirements for Displaced Persons and Yazidi immigrants forced by the conditions of terrorism to migrate and displace, the need to overcome political and administrative obstacles that prevent the fairness of the families of the victims, and to organize the administration in Sinjar on the basis of the will of its people, to keep it away from political conflicts, to rebuild the city and to strengthen its security and stability and to provide financial assistance and basic services.
For his part, the Delegation of the Yazidi Council expressed their appreciation to the President of the Republic, for his continued follow-up and proximity to the issues of the Yazidis, and appreciated the role of his sovereignty in the adoption of the Law of Yazidi Survivors to redress the victims, and stressed the need to implement it as soon as possible.
