Presidency of the Kurdistan Parliament strongly condemns the bombings in western of Kurdistan

On Friday, July 12 of 2019, the Kurdistan Parliament strongly condemned the bombings that targeted the cities of Qamishli and Afrin in west of Kurdistan, stressing the need to unite together to confront terrorism.


A well-informed source in Qamishli said that a car bomb attack targeted the church of the Virgin Mary in the central district of the town of Qamishli.


The source said: The car exploded in front of the church, injuring seven people and causing damage to the area of ​​the terrorist incident.


A car bomb exploded on Thursday at the entrance to the western city of Afrin, killing and injuring more than 40 people.


The Presidency of the Parliament of Kurdistan said in a statement which PUKmedia received a copy of it:  The occurrence of such explosions emphasizes the need to unite  and protect the land and to fight against terrorism, and expressing strong condemnation of these terrorist acts.


The Presidency of the Parliament of Kurdistan also called upon government departments in the Kurdistan Region to provide assistance  to victims and citizens in western of Kurdistan.
