Federal Finance Ministry stops payments of Kirkuk's employees

Member of the Financial Committee in the Iraqi Parliament stated that the Acting Minister of Finance Abdul Razzaq al-Issa had ordered not to pay the salaries of Kirkuk province's employees, adding that the decision was not official yet.
Mr. Masud Ahmed PM of the Kurdish blocks said in a statement to PUKmedia that the Acting Minister of Finance had ordered to stop the salaries of Kirkuk's employees, suggesting that the order is a result of raising the flag of Kurdistan Region in Kirkuk. Mr. Masud stressed that he tried to contact the ministry of Finance for more explanation regarding the order, but there was no response.
"If the Minister insisted on cutting the salaries, the parliament members from Kurdish blocks will have a clear position regarding the unfair decision" Mr. Masud added.
It is worth mentioning that on March 20, the Kurdish flag was officially raised by the provincial government alongside the Iraqi one at Kirkuk’s castle during a Newroz event.
