President Talabani Receives VP Abdul Mahdi

President Jalal Talabani received today Dr. Adel Abdul-Mahdi, the Vice President. In a meeting they discussed ways of keeping security and consolidating political situation and expanding the frames of collaboration between Iraq and the world.

Abdul-Mahdi briefed President Talabani about the result of the Iraqi Unified Alliance Delegation visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and also the content of the discussions with the Iranian officials about the security situation in Iraq.

VP Abdul-Mahdi said in a press statement that the Iraq’s security situation was the main issue of his discussions with the President in addition to the unfilled Ministries, consolidating the government, strengthening the political process and the National Reconciliation and activating the work of the Executive Council (3+1) and the Presidency Council.
