Ministry of Oil Calls to Demarcate Borders with Iran

Asim Jihad, Iraqi Ministry of Oil spokesman emphasized the necessity of demarcating the borders between Iraq and Iran to prevent any trespassing on the joint oil fields. He also emphasized that the technical surveys didn’t prove any Iranian investment to Abu Gharb oil field in Missan Province.
In an interview with Radio Sawa broadcasting, Jihad added “the ministry requested from Syria and Kuwait to form a technical committees for the evaluation of the oil fields between Iraq and these countries.”
“There are no any joint oil fields with Iran in al-Basra Province. Majnon oil field is inside the Iraqi borders and Iran didn’t drill for oil in this field”, Jihad said.
