President Talabani Speaks to Reporters in Sulaimani

On his arrival at the Sulaimani International Airport, the Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, held a press conference indicating that he will meet with the Kurdistan Region President, Massud Barzani and other officials.
Regarding the Article 140 of the Iraqi permanent constitution, he said “Article 140 will be implemented according to a UN plan and we have good news.”
About the failed assassination attempt on the Iraqi first lady’s life recently, he said that it is not likely that the terrorist attempt was to target Iraq’s first lady.
Concerning the recent visit by a Turkish delegation to Baghdad, President Talabani said that the visit led to positive results and was reinforcing bilateral relations between Baghdad -Ankara and Erbil -Ankara.
He said that the Iraqi government succeeded   in combating militias and militias should be disbanded.  He said that Kurdistan region Peshmerga forces are not considered as militias.
Talabani indicated that after purging Basra from outlaws, Iraq’s oil export increased.
The Iraqi President described the visit of the Iraqi vice president, Tariq al-Hashimi to turkey as successful. He also indicated that the Iraqi prime minister, Nouri all-Maliki will announce the return of the Iraqi Accordance Font’s ministers t o his government in the few coming days.
